very irritated to get onto a pirate ship

yes, i was irritated since yesterday about work. i can't help feeling irritated because i was asked to replace a colleague at the last minute yesterday to go on an overseas work trip.

by rights, able to go on a work trip so early in your career symbolises a level of confidence the company has on you. and i should be happy about it. but after finding out that the work trip clashes with two days of leave that i have, plus the work trip will be a 7-day work week work trip with as little as 25 USD a day allowance (exc. lodging and flight because they're catered for), and there's no increase in pay for the overseas work period, and there's no off given for the 2 weekends that i'll be there.

what's the most irritating is i just found out that the work trip may be delayed by a week due to logistics problem. i mean, what the fuck siah? originally, i'd be back on time to attend to my convocation, but now it means that i'll have to skip it.

for this item, i can only confirm it on monday.

i'm very very irritated now. seriously.

yesterday's CG overdrive

turned out to be a business event, with only 2 companies from the gaming sector exhibiting at the expo.

on one hand, i was prepared because i was in formal attire (for attending a work meeting after the visit). on the other hand, i wasn't prepared because i wasn't expecting a business event and i wasn't expecting that the focus would be on hardware media, stuff like video making, hd technology, server solutions, etc.

it's a shame that i misunderstood the expo as something that is related to computer gaming and animation. it is only in the broadest sense. CG overdrive is more on broadcast media, and being a business event, it just not your ordinary PC show thing.

i have to check out what tokyo game show is like before going to japan. don't want to make another wasted trip.

i am just so lazy to move around since i am on leave today. i wonder if i'll make it to the CG overdrive expo later..

time really flies

time flows in continuity and it will not stop to wait for anyone.

my goodness, it's already 3.5 months since i have been on my job. i haven't done much that i want to in this amount of time. it's time i think of how better i can make use of time.

in need of feedback

i was talking to a friend on my second interview for an urban planner job that time when i was going for interviews. it was until now that i realise how bad i am at expressing myself.

to sum it all up, my friend didn't understand my answer to the questions the interviewers asked at that time.

sigh... i think i am getting old. i am getting incoherent on my speech and starting to listen and read all the wrong stuff. i can't focus. i don't know why and it irritates not just me, but the people around me too. and changing my specs and correcting my sight didn't help either lor...

today at the office, i still mis-hear a question. i was getting a file from the department admin lady and when she asked, "what size do you want?" i heard that as "what site are these for?"

and i'm like answered to what i thought i heard lor.

lol... i should really start to try to focus on reading and listening to what people say around me, and make sure that i am coherent at all times. its important not just for me to project the right image, but it's also for my own good.
